Manchester Information
It’s been said that Prague is one of the most stunning cities in Europe, but even that is an understatement. The ‘City of a thousand Spires’ is one of the world’s true gems and if you’re thinking of heading here, you’d better prepare to have your breath taken away.

From the moment you cross the impressive Charles Bridge or step into the beautifully preserved Old Town Square, you’ll fall in love with this amazing city.

Prague itself is huge and it could take you forever to explore its sprawling suburbs. This probably explains why most people stick to the unspoilt heart of the city, where bars, restaurants and clubs happily sit beside some of the most stunning buildings found anywhere on earth.

The city is filled with spectacular architecture, from ornate bridges and beautiful cathedrals, to gold-tipped towers and dazzling church domes. Walk the quaint cobbled lanes, drink in the history and enjoy the unique, almost enchanting charm that draws visitors in such numbers that Prague is now Central Europe’s most popular destination.

Many fill their days by leisurely soaking up the culture, stopping off for a glass of local beer or fortified wine in one many café bars, or bargain hunting in the city’s sophisticated boutique shops. Others explore the museums and attractions, including the majestic 9th century castle that over looks the city.

Of course, these days Prague is just as famous for its vibrant nightlife and on an evening the city’s pulse beats with the youthful energy of trendy bars, clubs and restaurants.

With low cost flights and affordable accommodation, Prague is a tempting destination all year round. Although the winters are long and dark, the city really comes alive at Christmas time; admittedly, with a little help from the mulled wine in the Christmas Markets. Autumns are often idyllic, perhaps the best time to visit, and summers are very warm.
